Starting over is never easy, especially when the setbacks feel insurmountable. Yet, sometimes, those challenges are what shape us into who we’re meant to be. My journey to creating Tai Corner was paved with failure, heartbreak, and perseverance. It’s a story of resilience and transformation a testament to the power of believing in yourself even when no one else.
Losing It All, Over and Over. When I first set out to start my business, I was filled with ambition and excitement, but nothing could have prepared me for the hardships that followed. I poured my savings and dedication into one idea after another, believing that success was just around the corner. From marketing to selling Mary Kay, I was excited for the profits yet, I watched those investments crumble time and again. Whether it was a lack of knowledge, underestimating the challenges of entrepreneurship, or simply bad timing, each failure felt like a personal defeat. I lost money I didn’t have the luxury to lose. There were moments I doubted whether I should keep going, but deep down, I knew that giving up wasn’t an option. I had a vision, and I couldn’t let temporary defeats define my future.
Creating Tai Corner: A Personal Journey
Tai Corner wasn’t born out of convenience or ease—it was born out of necessity and purpose. In the midst of those failing business ventures, I realized I wasn’t just chasing a business I was on a journey to find myself and true purpose. Each setback forced me to reassess my goals, refine my skills, and rediscover my resilience. Slowly but surely, I began to understand the power of my own story.
Tai Corner is a reflection of my journey—a space where creativity, authenticity, and empowerment could thrive. It wasn’t just a business; it was a testament to my growth and determination, and I want to create a safe space for others to do the same.
Building Without Support
One of the hardest parts of my journey was starting with no support. Family and friends didn’t always understand my vision and many still don't. However, I had to learn to quiet the doubts, both theirs and my own, and press forward anyway. I became my biggest advocate, championing my dreams even when it felt like no one else believed in them. I learned how to celebrate my small wins, to finding lessons in my losses, and to push myself when the path ahead seemed unclear.
Telling my story—owning my failures, my triumphs, and everything in between—became my superpower. It reminded me why I started and fueled my determination to see Tai Corner succeed.
If there’s one thing I’ve learned, it’s that starting over isn’t a sign of weakness it’s a sign of courage and strength. I've also learned:
1. Failure is Not the End: It’s just a stepping stone to the next chapter.
2. Always Invest in Yourself: Even when resources are scarce, bet on your ability to learn and grow.
3. Never be afraid to tell your story: Your journey is unique and powerful use it to inspire yourself and others.
4. Be Your Own Cheerleader: When no one else claps for you, clap for yourself.
Starting over may break you in the moment, but it also builds you stronger than ever before. My journey to Tai Corner has been anything but easy, but it has been worth every challenge. If I can rise again, so can you.
